Appointment of a new director for Diversité artistique Montréal (DAM)
Montréal, November, 27th 2012 – Damian Nisenson and Éric M’Boua, co-chairs of Diversité Artistique Montréal (DAM), are proud to announce the appointment of Jérôme Pruneau, Ph.D, as Executive Director for the organization. Ever since he joined DAM, Mr Pruneau, who has been acting director for DAM since August, 20th 2012, managed to forge relationships with the various institutional authorities while developing fruitful bonds with the members of the team, proving his effective team spirit.
A doctor in ethnology and a university professor for many years, Jérôme Pruneau, a well-known figure in the art and cultural scene, knows the challenges of cultural and artistic diversity in Montreal, and proved his commitment and his dynamism through his many years as a volunteer within the organization. These elements are among the skills which motivate his nomination today.
We are delighted with our choice and are convinced that he will succeed in tackling our upcoming challenges: providing the organization’s services to existing members while carrying on implementing conditions for the development of the organization in regards to its strategic plan; positioning DAM on the cultural policy’s scene in order to ensure the representation and promotion of artists from the cultural communities on the Montreal scene, mainly through the issue of recognizing immigrant artists’ acquired skills and competencies; and ensuring the long term financial health of the organization and its stability as far as human resources are concerned.
His appointment to this new position is effective immediately.
