Brief to the Bouchard-Taylor Commission

Brief presented to the Bouchard Taylor Commission (November 26, 2007): Martin Choquette, President and Ms. Shuni Tsou, Coordinator of DAM presented a brief to the Bouchard-Taylor Commission on the realities of accommodation based on cultural differences in order to express the views of its members on the reasonable-accommodation issue. DAM's brief emphasized the fact that access to culture is one of the key factors that contribute to social cohesion. Diversité artistique Montréal concluded its brief with the statement that if Quebec society is to make a real place for Quebeckers from elsewhere, it is imperative that it accept that its culture will be modified by their artistic contributions. The brief was favourably received by the Commission's two co-chairs. (AVAILABLE SOON)
